The Caribbean Maritime University is gearing up for Maritime Awareness Week 2025, and this year we’re bringing the excitement to the streets and right here on campus! Mark your calendars for two dynamic events:
Maritime Town Parade – Wednesday, September 24
We’re taking over Half-Way Tree Transport Centre
for a high-energy parade featuring our CMU cadets, a lively exhibitor village,
giveaways, performances and so much more. This event will put CMU’s maritime
and logistics expertise in the public spotlight while giving potential students
a taste of the opportunities our industry offers.
Maritime Mania – Friday, September 26
The CMU campus will transform into a vibrant hub of exhibitions, campus tours,
and entertainment. The Undercroft will host our exhibitor village,
where industry stakeholders will showcase innovations, services, and career
pathways. There will be music, giveaways, and plenty of interactive experiences
for visiting schools.
Why It Matters
Maritime Awareness Week is about more than celebration, it’s a powerful
platform to engage potential students, strengthen industry relationships, and
showcase CMU’s role in shaping Jamaica’s maritime and logistics future.
How You Can Get Involved
We’ll need volunteers for both events; whether to guide visitors, conduct
tours, assist with recruitment or represent CMU with pride. More details will
be shared soon on the volunteering process.
Let’s work together to make this year’s Maritime Awareness Week one to remember!
