The Caribbean Maritime University (CMU) continues to champion a culture of continuous learning, professional development, and recognition of excellence among its valued staff. In keeping with our Stability, Growth and Innovation (SGI) strategy, the university is proud to announce the official launch of the President’s Staff Development Programme, a new initiative designed to uplift and empower members of our workforce.
This transformative programme supports ten (10) office attendants who have taken the initiative to pursue academic advancement by enrolling in classes to prepare for the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations through HEART/NSTA Trust. Their commitment to personal and professional growth speaks volumes- not only about their determination, but also about CMU’s ongoing investment in developing a knowledgeable, confident, and high-performing team.
Through this programme, participants will benefit from strengthened communication, analytical, and technical skills to better execute their roles, while the university enhances its capacity to meet evolving institutional needs. This milestone represents a significant step in fostering greater upward mobility, improved staff motivation, and alignment with national human capital development goals.
In addition to launching this important initiative, CMU will also be celebrating excellence within our community by announcing the Rewards & Recognition Q3 Employee of the Quarter. This acknowledgement highlights outstanding service, dedication, and the unwavering commitment of staff members who consistently go above and beyond in their duties.
