Mr. Matthew Ormsby joined the Caribbean Maritime University as Vice President, Digital Transformation on February 1, 2023.

Mr. Ormsby is an effective and strategic leader with proficiency in leading teams through the life cycle of software development and arming them with the right knowledge, tools and training while implementing project and development best practices to help grow multiple portfolios across any organization. 

His professional career has seen transition through various leadership roles at a variety of Financial Institutions in the region and a specialized US-based software company.

He is passionate about the exchange of knowledge, and he pursues this through teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the following areas: software engineering, software testing, IT project management, and object-oriented design. He is also skilled in a plethora of information systems software, solution designing and engineering, application and web development, project management and programming languages. Over the years, Mr. Ormsby has become a specialist in taking projects from ideation to implementation to operation and support.

Mr. Ormsby is in the final stages of completing his doctoral degree work at The University of the West Indies.
